Goulburn Valley Base Hospital was established in 1876 as the Mooroopna and District Hospital and was incorporated by authority of the Hospitals and Charities Act (No. 6274) on 24 February 1877.

The name of the hospital was changed on 2 November 1997 to Goulburn Valley Base Hospital.

On 16 November 1998 we received formal approval to change our name to Goulburn Valley Health, to better represent the wide range of hospital and community-based services we provide across the Hume region.
