Ashlee Hicks
Ashlee Hicks, a sonographer at GV Health, combines technical expertise with compassionate patient care.
A shoulder injury first sparked her interest in medical imaging, leading her to pursue radiography and later specialise in sonography. “I love being able to help patients, whether it’s reassuring them during a scan or playing a role in their diagnosis,” Ashlee said.
Ashlee’s day includes scanning inpatients and outpatients, from emergency cases to routine pregnancy and musculoskeletal imaging. One highlight of her career was assisting in a clinic for liver disease patients, where her detailed scans provided critical insights for their treatment plans. “Our scans aren’t just about pushing buttons—they provide vital information that can guide life-changing decisions,” Ashlee said.
Despite being relatively new to the field, Ashlee has embraced the chance to upskill through CPD sessions and on-the-job training. She also supports GV Health’s imaging student program, passing on her knowledge to the next generation of sonographers.
“GV Health has provided such a welcoming team culture,” she said. “It’s been the perfect place to grow my career.”
