Social work positions within GV Health’s acute hospital-based services range from Grade 1 to Grade 3. These roles provide the opportunity to work across all acute units, offering a diverse and dynamic career path.

Social Work positions within GV Health’s subacute hospital-based services range from Grade One to Grade Three. These roles offer the opportunity to work across a variety of rehabilitation services, supporting patients on their journey to recovery.

GV Health offers a diverse range of opportunities to work in paediatrics across acute admitted services, outpatient clinics, and community-based settings.

Social workers are vital members of many GV Health multidisciplinary community programs, covering diverse age groups and practice settings. These include:

Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is committed to growing a specialized mental health social work workforce, offering a supported graduate program with a discipline specific educator for newly graduated social workers.

Social workers within mental health are provided with clinical supervision, the opportunity to work across a variety of settings across the life span and have the opportunity to work in a person centered and trauma informed environment whilst taking a holistic view of our consumers. There is the opportunity to utilise therapeutic interventions in day-to-day work.

Mental health offers acute inpatient setting as well as sub-acute facilities. Mental health also offers a specialized rehabilitation program and specialized programs for our consumers. Our service also offers an Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment (AMBIT) approach which supports teams in helping vulnerable consumers by improving co-ordination, trust and adaptive learning. We also offer a specialized group therapy service for those suffering from trauma or personality disorders.
