Insights into Influence: The Impact of Allied Health in Healthcare

We invite submissions for the Hume Region Allied Health Conference 2025. This conference aims to showcase the contributions of allied health professionals and assistants in diverse roles to support public health across the region and beyond. Abstracts are welcomed under the following category, each with a 300-word limit.

Abstract Categories

10-minute presentations (plus five minutes question and answer)

1. Scientific

Share findings from completed (or almost completed) research. Abstracts in this category will typically be formatted under the headings of introduction, methods, results/findings and conclusions. Original research will likely have required ethical approval. Reviews are also permitted under this category.

2. Quality Improvement

Present initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare services, processes, or patient outcomes in allied health. Abstracts should outline the project’s context, approach, outcomes, and lessons learned. These projects may or may not have received ethics approval but are likely to required organisational approval. 

3. Project in Progress

Highlight innovative or impactful allied health projects in early progress and currently underway. Abstracts should detail the project’s aims, approach, and anticipated contributions to practice or policy.

4. Scholarly Perspective

Articulate viewpoints on key issues in allied health, including service provision, workforce development, policy, or education. Abstracts should clearly state the perspective, its relevance, and implications, supported by evidence. Submission in this category may be more narrative in style.

30-minute interactive session 

5. Workshop

Propose interactive sessions to share ideas, skills, knowledge relevant to allied should describe the workshop’s objectives, format, and expected outcomes for participants. 

Abstract Submission Deadline: 11 April 2025

Abstracts need to be submitted to the following email humealliedhealth@gmail.com, with a cover page and the abstract (see templates). Abstracts submissions will be double blind peer reviewed, with the exception of the workshop abstract submissions. Successful submissions will be selected for presentation at the conference, with authors notified in early June.
