GV Health’s medical imaging department provides quality imaging services for inpatients, outpatients and community referred patient.

Our services include a full suite of general and emergency radiological services including x-ray, fluoroscopy, CT scanning, MRI, ultrasound and nuclear medicine, provided by Shepparton Nuclear Medicine.

MRI appointments are available:

  • 7.00am – 9.00pm, weekdays
  • 8.00am – 4.30pm, weekends


All other medical imaging services are available 8am – 5pm weekdays.

Most services are bulk billed, however some tests are not covered by Medicare and incur a charge. Prior to your test you should be informed of these charges.

X-rays may be performed without an appointment however, all other imagine requires an appointment. Tests in high demand may be subject to longer waiting times.

Who are GV Health’s imaging services available to?

GV Health’s imaging services are available to inpatients, outpatients who have been referred from a clinical service within GV Health and people in the community who are referred to GV Health’s outpatient services.

How do I access GV Health’s imaging services?

Access to GV Health’s imaging services is via referral only. To arrange a referral, please speak to your General Practitioner (GP) or treating team.

What should I bring to my appointment?

  • The request form from your doctor
  • All previous imaging
  • Medicare card
  • DVA card (if applicable)
  • Pension or Health Care card (if applicable)
  • List of medications, implants and past surgeries
