Antenatal appointments are conducted at GV Health’s Rosewood Women’s Health Clinic. The clinic is located at our Graham Street campus, accessible via Monash Street, and open Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5.30pm.
Booking in visit
At your booking in visit, whether via phone or in person, your midwife will take a full obstetric and medical history, review your antenatal screening bloods and scans and discuss the models of care offered at GV Health. While most women will have a low risk, straight forward pregnancy, we have a range of care options available, catering to all women and their individual pregnancies.
Models of care
Midwife Antenatal Care
- A low risk model of care that allows women to see midwives throughout their pregnancy, right up until you go into labour/birth
- Where possible you will be booked with the same midwife for each visit to allow for continuity of care
Midwifery Group Practice
- Available to women whose pregnancy is considered low risk
- Is made up of a small group of Midwives who work on call, providing women with pregnancy support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- You are allocated a primary care provider who cares for you throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatally
Obstetric Led Care
- This is the model of care usually allocated to those women whose pregnancy is considered high risk
- The reasons for why your pregnancy is considered high risk will be communicated with you early in your pregnancy so you have a full understanding as to why Obstetric Led Care is professionally recommended
- Throughout your pregnancy you will see a combination of doctors and midwives
- Every effort is made to ensure you are still provided with appropriate education and support regarding labour and birth, and opportunities to discuss any concerns or questions you may have
Shared Maternity Care with GP
- Low risk model of care that allows women to divide their antenatal visits between GV Health and an accredited GP from Lister House
- An alternative option for those women who do not have Medicare as it may be a more affordable option
Shared care with Cobram and Numurkah
- More convenient and less travel required for women located in Cobram or Numurkah
- Enables greater continuity of care
- Able to accommodate high risk pregnancies for women living in Numurkah
Rumbalara
- Integrated service that includes GP’s, midwives, and obstetric doctors
- Can accommodate high and low risk pregnancies
- Specifically designed for women carrying Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander babies
The Bridge Youth Service
- Antenatal and additional support services available to young mothers aged 12-25 years
